That the trash can should talk was a matter of course

About 40 children from the preschool Beckombergavägen 76 in Bromma are involved in the deployment and inauguration of the Bigbelly they have written a citizen's proposal to bromma district administration to get in place in a playground near the preschool. It started back in 2017 with the children paying attention to bird life. 🕊

They had made their own "bird alarms" after agreeing on how dangerous traditional bins can be for the birds where they could access rubbish thrown away, get in on the hook and get stuck in plastic bags. ✨

On February 22, two of the preschoolers cut the blue-and-yellow ribbon to the brand new trash can and the circle of democratic process was closed. "Far from all citizen proposals are becoming a reality" said Johan Paccamonti (M), chairman of the District Council. The children have in close dialogue with Ewf Eco developed the subject on the pages. It was a matter of course that the trash can should talk. 

"You shudder on a day like this. The joy rubs off on us," says Susanna Fors, Preschool Educator.
