Norrtelje Tidning writes about Bigbelly

Smart garbage can that saves the environment, time and money writes Norrtelje Tidning.

18 garbage disposals were reduced to two. A solar-powered garbage can attracted visitors to Rimbo. Interesting for both the environment and wallet, thought Councillor Kjell Jansson, m.

Bigbelly as it is called the creation that began to be manufactured in the United States about seven years ago. Now it will be introduced to the Swedish market via the Rimbo company EWF ECO AB, which yesterday arranged a viewing with the support of Director Hervé Tenaglia from Solar's Europe office in France. Interesting were both Norrtälje Municipality as well as the Archipelago Foundation and ISS facility services. Bigbelly the smart garbage can with features that, according to the vendors, save the environment, time and money compared to traditional trash handling in public places. Bigelly is manufactured by an American company that has since its inception managed to introduce its product to several countries all over the world.

Emptied more often

Hervé Tenaglia first described how a traditional trash can in a public place can quickly become overflowing with plastic cups, cardboard boxes and empty cans. In order to avoid having to spend time picking debris from the ground, you try to empty more often, and then get into empty or almost empty runs.

Bigbelly has two built-in systems. Secondly, one that allows it to wirelessly report its volume to a cloud service. Green light means there is plenty of room left, yellow that it is approaching emptying time and red that it is full. Then there should be between 10 and 15 kilos of garbage to collect.

The second is a packing system powered by built-in solar cells. Normally, between 70 and 80 percent and sometimes change up to 89 percent of what is collected from garbage bins and bins, air.

Norrtelje Tidning writes that Hervé Tenaglia showed statistics on how 18 traditional discharges were reduced, first 10.5 thanks to the reporting system, and then, after packing, down to two.

EWF, which has been an established family business in Rimbo for 25 years, hopes that the launch of Bigbelly increase the number of employees by almost ten people. Today, 13 people work in companies that focus on health and safety improvement products. The fuel is that Bigbelly rented, but it can also be purchased. Kjell Jansson was clearly interested in Norrtälje Municipality. "On the one hand, we are grappling with operational costs and, on the other hand, it seems good for the environment," he said, bringing a stack of leaflets to the civil service.
