With this investment we also create good conditions for a safe and tidy Södertälje.
The smart bins have been shown to provide more efficient waste management, lower costs and a reduction in refuse collection. It takes five to eight times more junk than a traditional trash can, thanks to compressing the trash. The compression is solar powered. Trash BigBelly also has a built-in technology for surfing wirelessly without a network cable.
"It should be easy to get rid of your rubbish in the city centre," says Tomas Thernström, waste coordinator at Södertälje Municipality. Now we are taking another step towards the goal of reducing littering and ensuring that citizens are satisfied with the sanitation of the city centre.
