We welcome Sundsvall Municipality to the platform BigBelly !
On Thursday morning, ten smart bins were placed on the streets and parks in Sundsvall by the name of BigBelly . The devices that were deployed provide better garbage management with increased capacity and also come with an integrated Wi-Fi network that visitors can connect to and surf freely. The devices are standalone and use solar energy to compress the debris which then alerts staff when it's time for emptying.
"This is the best in the area right now," says Tomas Häggström, section manager at the park section in Sundsvall.
"I hope that people use them and see them as a positive thing in the city," says Alexander Fagerlund.
