It is called Big Belly . The name is well chosen. The smart trash can devours 5-7 times its own size – by squeezing the rubbish you throw in it.
"There is a sensor inside the basket that detects when it needs to compress the contents," explains Susanne Pettersson at the traffic office.
Traffic Commissioner Daniel Helldén (MP) was present when the 80 new bins were shown in Farsta on Thursday. Six of them remain in the center, the rest are placed elsewhere in the city.
