Starting from week 14, around 25 of the city's old yellow bins will be replaced with 10 new smart bins. These bins have been designed to prevent rats and birds from rooting through the waste and creating an unclean environment in the city. This is an important and positive change that will improve the lives of both residents and visitors to the city.
- Even though we changed from 14 bins to 6 in the test at Våghustorget, the total amount of litter decreased. With these results behind us, we are now testing over a larger area to see how we can take it further," says Jonas Nilsson, street engineer at the Technical and Service Administration.

- It allows us to work much more efficiently," says Jonas Nilsson, street engineer. "We save a lot of working time that can be used to clean up elsewhere. Another effect is that when the rats are absent, we also save the cost of paving that they dig up, and the cost of pest control.
